Sculptra’s Invima health registration (INVIMA 2017DM-0017014) describes use on the face and the body. The public database consulted on October 15, 2026 shows it valid until October 20, 2027.
Which body areas the Invima registration for Sculptra covers
The registration lists four body areas:
- Gluteal area.
- Back of the thighs.
- Upper arms.
- Décolleté.
The intended purpose is to increase volume in sunken areas of the face and body, in particular to correct wrinkles, folds and cellulite and to improve skin quality. On the face it lists the nasolabial folds, cheeks, marionette lines, temples and chin fold. The registration classifies the product as a risk III medical device.
Which areas are not on the registration
The abdomen, neck and hands do not appear on the list of areas. Invima Health Alert 448-2023 mentioned face, neck, décolleté and hands; the current list is different. Dr. Tatiana Leal assesses any area outside the registration at the consultation and explains it before proposing a treatment.
What the manufacturer’s studies show for thighs and décolleté
Galderma published results from its body clinical studies (Redacción Médica, March 2026):
- Thighs, at 12 months: 93% of patients improved laxity and 97% gained firmness.
- Décolleté: wrinkle severity visibly decreased in 86.7% of patients.
These are manufacturer figures. Each patient responds differently depending on the area, age and skin quality.
Body Sculptra stimulates your own collagen: results build over weeks, not the same day
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It is injected into the treated area and stimulates the tissue to produce its own collagen. Results appear gradually over several weeks and are reviewed after each session. Sculptra does not work like an immediate-effect filler.
